Erika Watson MBE

As a consultant, trainer and accredited business adviser, EErika Watsonrika supports people and organisations to be more entrepreneurial. A successful social entrepreneur, she brings a diversity perspective to enterprise development. Erika has an MBA and an MBE for services to women’s enterprise.

Erika is also a business writer and has contributed to the Financial Times and the Guardian. She edits the Prowess 2.0 women in business website.

Erika has 15 years experience of starting and growing successful social enterprises, including Prowess, the national association for the promotion of women’s enterprise, which she founded and led for 7 years. Under Erika’s leadership, Prowess was commissioned by the DTI and Regional Development Agencies to produce the first UK national strategy for women’s enterprise and a well regarded range of training materials, best practice reports and quality standards to support better services. She previously developed the UK’s first Microcredit programme, which continues to support diverse groups of low-income individuals to start businesses.

Aedan Kernan

 

Aedan KernanAedan is a business communications specialist with interests in the development of new technologies and in environmental issues. He is a former managing editor of Supply Network magazine and former editor of Industry Europe. He has edited or written Annual Reports for public limited companies in the UK and the Netherlands. Aedan has also written extensively for Higher Education institutions, mainly on research and internal management issues.

Whether reporting on the likely environmental, social or economic impacts of new technologies, or producing a guide through the minefield of business start-up, Aedan can explain complexity without dumbing down.

Currently completing an MSc in Environmental Management for Business at the University of Cranfield, Aedan has Degrees in economic history and law, as well as a Postgraduate qualification in the Principles of Senior Management.

Dr Anne Hillyer

Anne works with businesses and communities to empower or regenerate them in sustainable ways. An excellent communicator and coordinator with international experience, Anne has researched and written on a wide range of sustainable development issues from ‘Local knowledge and land use in Northern Namibia’, to sustainable livelihoods in the UK.

In 2010 Anne was appointed ‘Village Champion” for the Talgarth Mill Green Energy Project in Powys, mid-Wales, to create a sustainable education and renewable technologies centre at an old flourmill in the village of Talgarth near Brecon – powered by a refurbished watermill. The story of the flourmill’s transformation was televised by the BBC in 2011.

 

Rupert Sheldon

Rupert is a communications professional who has worked in politics, the media, academia and professional football and has interests in environmental issues and  renewable energy in particular.

Rupert was employed for three years as a Parliamentary researcher by Tony Wright, former MP for Great Yarmouth, researching and writing Parliamentary speeches and press releases. He handled liaison with constituents, businesses, local authorities, charities and voluntary organisations on matters of political policy.

Rupert has also worked as the communications officer for the Centre for Competition Policy based at the University of East Anglia and as a sports reporter and contributor for Radio Norfolk. He also worked at Norwich City Football Club as a press officer and award-winning match programme editor .

Rupert has a degree in Electronic Engineering and a postgraduate qualification in Education.
